Skippers are solely responsible for their decision about whether to sail or not. You will not be told when it is not safe for you to sail.
Skippers are responsible for ensuring that their boats, fittings, and personal safety equipment complies with Yachting New Zealand requirements.
All skippers must comply with instructions from race officers and rescue boat crews.
Skippers must be aware of the “hazardous weather conditions” special safety instructions for our Club which are included in our Sailing Instructions.
Skippers must comply with sign-on/sign-off requirements.
Any skipper who fails to comply with these requirements may be disqualified from events, and may lose the right to sail from the Club premises.
Inflatable personal buoyancy vests are not permitted to be worn at MPYC. See the Maritime NZ buoyancy aids page for examples of the different types of buoyancy aids. For dinghy sailing within the Estuary at MPYC, only types 402 and 403 are permitted.
